The Charles Unveils New Private Dining Room

The CharlesDuro Hospitality’s original Italian-ish restaurant concept and Dallas Design District darling, is proud to announce the grand unveiling of its newly revamped private dining room, just in time for its sixth anniversary this year. Designed by the wildly creative and talented Sees Design, led by brothers Corbin and Ross See, who are also managing partners at Duro Hospitality along with Chas Martin, Benji Homsey, and J Chastain, the sophisticated space combines elegant design elements with a touch of Texas charm, offering guests an unparalleled dining experience.

Designed for both comfort and style, the stunning new private dining space features custom-made tables showcasing an egg and dart detail, complemented by Louis XVI style chairs. The chairs are elegantly slipcovered in a striking black, white, and green stripe, which seamlessly ties together the walls and canopy, creating a cohesive and visually stunning space. “A lot of our technique is to use different periods and antiques with soul, and to put a human touch on everything,” says Corbin See.

The centerpiece of the revamped private dining room is its upholstered “paneled” walls in black acoustical fabric, creating a serene ambiance for intimate gatherings. Adding to the allure is a dramatic tented and pleated ceiling canopy, ensuring a quiet and exclusive atmosphere when needed. To enhance the room’s ambiance, three exquisite crystal chandeliers and new sconces imported from Italy cast a soft, inviting glow throughout.

“We are thrilled to unveil our newly revamped private dining room at The Charles,” said Chas MartinManaging Partner at Duro Hospitality. “Our goal is to create a space that not only reflects our commitment to exceptional cuisine but also provides an elevated private dining experience for our guests. With its exquisite design elements and luxurious ambiance, we believe our private dining room will exceed expectations and become the premier destination for intimate gatherings and special occasions in Dallas. We carry the same attention to detail throughout our food, service, and design— which are the cornerstone elements of our restaurants. The new space continues to provide a feast for the senses.”

The private dining room is located within Bar Charles, the 1,700 square foot cocktail and champagne bar located on the backside of The Charles restaurant, with entry through the back alleyway which transports guests into a “maximalist” space once walking through the door and providing a speakeasy vibe. Bar Charles boasts a custom-printed mural on the ceiling inspired by Italian frescos and outlined in pink neon lighting, an 18th-century marble fireplace from France filled with books, and custom blue spotted wallpaper in the hallway to the restrooms, which has an intriguing story behind it worth inquiring about with a nod to famous artist Yves Klein.

The lounge includes several different types of tile, floral prints, and plush velvet chairs. “I would describe Bar Charles as turned up,” Martin says. “Everything from the design to the music to the champagne selection is maximized.” Bar Charles welcomes guests to dine within the space as an alternative to the main dining room at The Charles.
